Wheels, tires, and axles (condition/inflation)
Hydraulic components (condition/leaks)
Data plate (accurate/legible)
Annual inspection (verify)
Battery tray (opens/closes easily, latches shut)
Turret turntable (gears/lock pin/stops)
Counterweight (secure)
Cover panels (open/close easily, latch/lock shut)
Engine (fluids/filters/belts/hoses)
Batteries (clean/dry/secure/caps-cables/levels)
Fuel tank (cap secure/level)
Hydraulic fluid reservoir (cap secure/level)
Lights/strobes (functional)
Placards/labels/decals (legible)
Boom valley (leaks/debris)
Accessory plugs and cables
Boom (general condition/wear)
Hydraulic cylinders and pin locks
Articulated joints (wear/cracks)
Power track (lines/hoses)
Platform (guard rails/toe board/anchorages)
Weather-resistant storage compartment (appropriate manuals)

Start-up Checks

Start engine (sounds normal/ no warning light)
Check battery charge level
Check gauges and instruments
Check fuel level
Test all boom functions (ground and platform controls)
Test turret (rotate)
Test warning devices (horn, backup alarms, etc.)
Unit drives smoothly in all speed ranges (both directions)
Test steering controls (all modes/ left and right)
Test platform movement (tilt/rotate)
Test brakes and all available steering modes
Test outriggers/stabilizers
Test extendable axles
Test function-enable (deadman) devices
Test manual/auxiliary controls
Test unit-specific interlock/limit switches
